What language to program a web based slot machine This is a very technical question, try stackoverflow.com, it's more suited to these types of questions. |

salary and stock options in a startup for lead developer - advice needed @AnhPham: Sounds like you're a technical founder considering it's at the idea level. You'll be doing a majority of the work and be a critical team member. I'm not an expert, but I'd expect far more equity, maybe 15-25%? |

What is a possible net worth value for online start-ups 3-5 years in their existence? Ah, I see what you mean. I'd search around TechCrunch for their articles on funding, which would tell you approximately how old a startup is, how much they raised and their valuation. |

How to redirect to another website with tracking? This should be on stackoverflow.com, sounds like a programming problem. |

Looking to hire good freelancers - looking for original ways for paying them? Wait, really? This was chosen as the correct answer even though it was dripping in sarcasm? Yikes, I really hope vondip doesn't use these 'solutions'! :) |

How should I spend my limited financial capability to gain momentum in my startup? @Garcia: I didn't say he didn't need a business plan, just he shouldn't spend $3.5k on one. |

How should I spend my limited financial capability to gain momentum in my startup? Glad I could help! If you don't have programming skills, definitely pay for SaaS websites that are inexpensive and provide you with everything you need (Amazon fulfillment, Shopify, Wordpress, etc) |

Major expenses of a web-based startup? I agree with the developers part, but hosting will most likely be more than $50/month. A good architecture will have at least a few machines for test/production environments, backups, monitoring, etc. To get started it's about $100/month (5 Linodes @ $20 for example), a serious architecture would be at least $300-400. |

How do you determine how much to raise for seed funding? You missed internet connectivity for your office and your computer hardware allowance is quite low (barely covers a MacBook Pro, developers will need monitors, mouse/keyboard, software, etc). I'd estimate at least $5k/employee for hardware. Also, your infrastructure costs are probably low for a while, then will get higher for launch due to backups, redundancy, monitoring, etc. You probably could use Amazon EC2 for everything and save a lot of money. |

Will video replace all images in the future? 40 years ago paintings and theater were not popular with the 'younger crowd'. I honestly think you are extrapolating far too much. |

Will video replace all images in the future? This is akin to asking if paintings or theater will be obsolete. They are still going strong :) |

What is the best free/open source php based newletter system? Can you define 'limited'? What features are you expecting/want? Also, reliable email delivery is difficult, it's usually worth paying for a SaaS tool to handle it for you. |

Startup motivation and consistency @Susan Jones: IRC, a chatroom, any method of 'hanging out' online works. Basically you need a really easy way of communicating low to medium priority information without being as jarring as a phone call. I'd recommend Campfire (campfirenow.com) |
