How do I find the perfect investor to start my company? I'll add to this response that you are left with two possibilities. The investors didn't understood the value of your project and you then you need to solve the communication problem, or your project (website) has no value from the investor perspective which means you need to solve the business model issue. |

Should I pursue someone who stole my idea? :) you may also give some publicity to what happened to you as marketing of your consultant value. Present it as sharing your experience to other people like you so that they avoid the mistake you did. Don't name the company. Leverage this experience to grow your value. Other people may then also want to hire you as consultant in hope to also get a golden egg. |

I have an idea for a radically different business model for a VERY longstanding, almost universally used service Exactly. When one has an idea, the first thing to do is evaluate as objectively as possible the traction and potential revenue. If you talk to potential users, like your friends, pick the ones that are less susceptible to "steal" the idea. So I wouldn't pitch to company susceptible to develop and run the business unless the idea is safe with a patent or you can keep the howto secret. The later is better because you can bypass the time limit of patents (i.e. CocaCola). |

What are the most important variables you would look for on a website selling engagement rings to convince you to trust the retailer? I don't understand. Rings are not like underpants, shoes or anything that degrades rapidly when used. Have you checked how easily/cheaply it can be refurbished into a new ring ? When I bought my ring, it was too big. They could reajust the size with no problem. So a repolish, changing size and changing written text inside can't be that expensive. Keep a short cut on the refund for business processing so that it covers your refurbishing cost. I think it would be worth to investigate this option. I would be a blasting commercial argument ! |
