Are software download sites generating sales? Thanks for your answer. Since I know my conversion rate as I wrote I obviously track them. ;) There are conversions from this sites but they are really nothing in relation to the ones resulting out of Google searches. So mostly they generate much more traffic with lesser sales. That's what kept me wondering. |

Are software download sites generating sales? Are you sure this still holds true? I was under the impression that Google is nowadays very good at ignoring such pages since all they do is linking content. |

How to promote a cooking software? I like the ideas a lot (and you are right about the price I suppose, I'll fix that). |

How to promote a cooking software? @A. Garcia Yes, I am german. To be honest I never would have thought using that as an advantage. :) I really have to overhaul some of the texts if it isn't clear what the program does. Thanks for the info. |

Freelance or Small Startup in germany One little correction. You don't need a university degree to work as a freelancer. There is a distinction between "Freier Mitarbeiter" and "Freier Beruf". Everyone can be the former. It just means you are not exclusively integrated in one company. The latter liberates you from the "Gewerbesteuer" but this is only available to very specific professions and can be open to debate (as it is with programmers). |

How to promote a cooking software? I think the advice is sound but I'm not sure I'm an engaging enough writer for that. Boring articles will lead nowhere I suppose. Maybe I should look for outside help. |

How to promote a cooking software? Thanks. Most visitors come from Google or Ask. Many are in search of a specific recipe, conversions here are very low. People who search for a program convert much better but I really neglected the english market until now as I did just realize looking into Googles keyword tool. There are a lot of competitors. Most of them look very dated though (on Windows at least), like an "Excel for cooks". I'm not sure yet I'm fit to do the kind of social marketing you propose being a totally unsocial coder and all ;) but I understand its value and I'll try. |

Are there any downsides or disadvantages to joining BizSpark? There is the Graduation Offer (microsoft.com/bizspark/About/Graduation.aspx) which absolves you of paying the 100$ fee. |
