comment Equity redistribution after team shake up, product pivot
Thinking in relative terms sounds right, and those are some good boundaries. Thanks!

comment Developing a rules engine
I worked in enterprise automation software for many years- it's a deep space with tons of products, product certifications, consultants, and analysts. It's not clear to me what kinds of functions you're trying to automate, or whether you're trying to automate them using an existing product with a consultant's help, or develop a homegrown rules engine. Can you provide more detail about what you're trying to do? How large is your company?

comment retail point of sale software
Does your idea only apply to large retailers? As software development and support costs come down there seems to be trend towards providing the traditional tools of large businesses to SMBs. You may have more success approaching the market in a similar direction.

Yeah, I'm saying DIY. I think you're best bet is referrals, partnerships and events. You have a good web presence and messaging already. Unless you want to enter a new market or try to raise profile through publications I'm not sure what you'd be paying for.

I'm going to try this out immediately. Thanks for the tip.

This is really clever. It must take pretty active monitoring to keep up with the best results, e.g. I suspect many/most/all of the top results were shaken up in google's latest farm purge?
