Software Engineer & Architect & Evangelist & Pundit & Skeptic
Started with Unix in 1984. I have no recollection of what version but was labeled IBM, maybe a Unix-style shell on mainframe?, then to C64 (all BASIC line editing by LIST and using the up key), Apple ][ (who didn't?), Windows, Linux and AIX in 1993, OS/400 in 1997. Back on Windows now as a client only to my Linux boxen in the "cloud."
Under my own revolution a little now in that I'm starting to be OK with Windows as the server. With a decent shell and vi, it works for me (gasp).

OO-design req's for investment? Thanks for the feedback. I agree that there are all types and everyone naturally has a their own preferences in mind, I guess I have been somewhat surprised at the objections. Technology is by all means mainstream, a little classical in structure/language, but done in modern architecture and who ever thinks the first incarnation is not rewritten? It is SaaS so LARGELY the technology decisions should be moot given an SLA. |

Can anyone suggest a good cart/printing solution for high quality prints? Major = worth their brick & mortar, not that they're national, in fact I couldn't care less about that part. We managed many thousands of PostScript documents routed to various service providers. Different model, but we wrote an LPD daemon that would filter, do accounting, and route the PS documents based upon whom/when the job was submitted electronically. In your case, likely a simple ecommerce that would include a workflow that would verify a local postal code for servicing, the routing would be easy after that. Even the smallest shops should be able to take an FTP or email doc submit. |
