How to pick a platform for a startup web 2.0 app? Not so sure. Java IS expensive in server resources, so you NEED pretty much a server, while - as the poster says - ROR / PHP actually CAN run shared hosting. There simply is no java hoster that offers lower end. |

What's a reasonable salary for a CEO in a startup? That sounds pretty bad - the 4:1 ratio. Imagine a company doing software development.... and the lowest paid full time clerk is some electrincal technician or house guy, or some clerk in the warehouse. This would mean the CEO earns probably less than the good programmers. |
