How to deal with negative reviews on an e-commerce website? Is your business model based on percentage cut or charging for profiles only? The latter seems a directory site but not an e-commerce site. More details on the model and process would be of help. |

Is a logo important on first batch of business cards and website? It would depend on your audience in my opinion, which is not defined in the question. If the business is about your service, say outsourcing, the logo doesn't mind at all. You name and photo is the best identity. |

What are things customers could do for a discount? Yes, you are right at this point. It's hard to make a good suggestion on your case. There are two more considerations. Firstly, if you offer $300 discount with some easy work by customer, they will think this is not an honest deal. How come a review or a link worth $300? Secondly, How do you advertise? If you told me XXX is at 60% discount, I'll say "WOW! Good deal!". But when I come, I'll find I need to do something to get this discount, sounds not so nice. |

Charging annually based on number of users. How to grant flexibility on the number of users? Yes, firstly I feel it a bit complicated, it took me 1 minute to catch the idea, seems not a convention. Customer don't expect you excel on payment terms, fair term is good enough. They expect your better product. Secondly, in psychology, credit is something belongs to me and I'll be cautious to use. If it's subscription, I know I will spend it and will be less cautious. This way you should be able to earn more. This is just my thoughts, would like to hear if others have different ideas. |

How can I ensure my freelance developers are writing good code? It seems I can only add comment here. For the terms you asked, a better way is to do a Google search, as it is too long to write here. Just as @Chris said, "You're searching for an easy way to do what software engineering professionals have spent decades trying to solve." Though everybody including me want to do that :-) frisbee mentioned the waterfall process, which is traditional but easy to understand, and easy to follow in small projects. I suggest you to do it by that way. |
