Lite Version or Trial? I believe that if you put the low price to $0 you loose this effect (that's why I couldn't avoid 2X=0 for X=0 example). Your point is true as soon as you start charging for both versions though. I do recommend the book The Future of a Radical Price by Chris Anderson for a lot more information on the free version (you can get it free as a podcast from iTunes) |

Lite Version or Trial? Good point about competitors, but it still depends on the product. If the UI and basic features make up too much of the product value you can't always give that away. The second point argues that you should have a $500 and a $1000 product. $2X is still nothing for X=0. :-) |
