comment Built a company? When did you realize you needed a COO (or ops exec)?
There was actually a very good article on the CEO subject on TC techcrunch.com/2012/11/10/if-when-and-how-to-avoid-hiring-a-ceo Worthy read.

comment Do I really need an accountant?
If you are in US, good bookkeeper who was a controller before, has the right education, and understands your business is not that hard to find. Part time is all you need. CPA you need once per year at tax time. I spend about 1% of my total sales on accounting and CPAs - small price to pay for peace of mind.

comment Where to declare startup officers?
So my answer was not wrong in principle, only terminology used was not right. Re. 1. You know in practice most C-crops will have CEO and President as directors on the board, so they will be listed. 2) You are misconstruing what I am stating. 3) Re. minor status, in law firm world maybe, in real world I am not wrong, since I can give you mountain of docs I dealt with excluding minors.

Dana, I am aware DE and even CA have no age limits on incorporation. I am not an attorney, but in 17+ years I have dealt with legal docs, every convertible note, NDAs, etc. etc. etc. agreements I have seen required to be an individual to be of legal age to become party to it.

Kgrover, as you've mentioned in your e-mail to me, you are not 18 yet, hence any of the documents you have signed are not legally enforceable. Equity issues come into play there too.

Ah yes, love these downvotes. I know it comes from those who never invested or had to deal with professional investors :-)

comment How to handle partners asking to renegotiate old partnership agreements
I would not use the term "greedy", but the rest of the suggestions are spot on. Everyone has overblown self-image of importance. It may be useful to bring in a mutually agreed to independent 3rd party to help mediate.
