Adding my own developer to freelance team Thanks JDH. You're right, probably not the most popular comment, but you may be right. I think I also need to improve my organizational skills and get more proactive with soliciting updates and feedback. |

Adding my own developer to freelance team Thank you for taking the time to comment, Vincent. You confirmed jimg's idea and hopefully forced me to get a little more proactive with setting milestones and getting updates. I like you just assumed that I could let them do their own thing, but it's obviously not working. Great blog btw. |

Adding my own developer to freelance team I would like to that it's not an issue of him not caring. After thinking about it some today, I am going to have a call/chat tomorrow and see what the issue is. Are the bugs/features taking much longer than expected or is a time availability issue. Maybe you're right, but I like to give people the benefit of the doubt (and maybe that's my problem) |

Adding my own developer to freelance team Thanks, jimg. First, I appreciate the insight and can see what you're saying. Perhaps it would just slow things down. To answer your questions: I wouldn't call it a firm, just two guys who have their own freelance business. Deadlines are set in reasonable deliverables. For example, last week we agreed that by the end of the week we would fix remaining bugs, add "x" features, and be ready to work on next phase this week. Features are not completed and we are not ready to move on to the next phase. This has happened three weeks in a row. |
