How important is it to secure domain name variants >> people just don't type arbitrary URLs in the browser window I disagree. I'd qualify that they don't do that for crappy names. But if you own great domains like: Insurance.com or Candy.com or Toys.com, then you are counting on that kind of traffic and profiting from it. |

Domain names with a hyphen, good or bad idea? Also, I have read that in Europe, the hyphen is more common: That is, Europeans are more likely to typein the domain with a hyphen, than not. |

Obtaining the perfect domain name Another similar one: One of the founders of Twitter started a new company selling a credit-card processing product called "Square", but the website is SquareUp.com |

How do you start a software business when you have no idea about it @Tim: In the early days of a startup, it is common that no one is getting paid. So getting a co-founder on board (just based on the idea), or getting some folks to believe in your idea and work for stock is leadership to me. But, I guess you could call it salesmanship. |

How do you start a software business when you have no idea about it Totally agree. Plus the "programmer" or "IT guy" that you find has the opposite problems. He may be thinking, "I know how to write software, but I really don't know what business to start. I wish I could find a partner (or job) where I could create cool products." |
