Do I need a CMS or should I build from scratch? @jimg - I'm not indicting PHP of anything. All I'm simply stating is that PHP is a slower, and less secure language, all of which have been proven/benchmarked. Any interpreted language (Ruby/PHP) will be slower than a compiled one (C/C++) or even a compiled (then interpreted) language like Java. I tried to note any personal opinions or information clearly. I have worked with PHP systems, and have moved away from them as technology has grown. Simply stating that if speed is a primary concern, PHP is not a great solution is nothing but fact, there are faster solutions out there. |

How to determine the monetization sources of a startup web service No worries. Just think about it from the POV of the site owner - what information can I reasonably track, and who is it valuable to? Think about everything in your life, and try to find something that doesn't have any advertising associated with it. It's a hard proposition, and that's what makes any scraps of info valuable. |

Getting funding with an unorthodox team Thanks @Derek sorry to hear about the overseas guy, I know SO has had several issues with anonymous downvoting... Anyway, I don't think your investors will mind as long as their is justification in why the business is 33% each. If your partner in Wyoming provides funds, or came up with the idea, that's more acceptable than "he's a friend". Best of luck! |

How To Structure A Partnership @ZulyGonzalez - we are beyond topic here, but to be clear: there is no mention of a legal "Partnership" thus my original questions. Also, I'm aware of what you're saying, but I'm trying to understand the business type in order to provide useful information. We're not talking about taxes, we're talking operating agreements here, which LLCs can opt to structure like a partnership. Finally (and more importantly) : Icon - have you managed to get your question answered? |

How To Structure A Partnership Yes, but LLC's are classified as partnerships. Since this is not in the description, the type of partnership (if it REALLY is registered as a partnership, and it's not a company, with an agreement between two parties) then the LLC, LLP, LP or GP designation will make a bit of difference in how finances are managed. Feel free to read that link from earlier, if that's not clear. |

How To Structure A Partnership @ZulyGonzalez => I don't see which type (biztaxlaw.about.com/od/startingapartnership/f/…) also, just because there is an agreement, does not mean it's not an LLC or Corp (just less likely it's a corp). |

How To Structure A Partnership Most importantly, what type of business is this? Is this US based? Are you operating under an LLC or a Corp? Are you filling using subchapter S? |

Need to include expenses you paid yourself on an LLC's tax return? Well put. From the IRS's point of view, LLCs are taxed the same as C or S Corps, depending on the election when you request your EIN. Just like with Corps, you are default C, unless you elect to act like an S Corp. Like @Patrick NY said -> talk to an accountant. |
