Equity equation as 3rd member of a startup You can ask them what they have in mind or, to get an idea, read this: onstartups.com//tabid/3339/bid/88227/… |

Changing to a new domain name I'm not shure if I've understood your question... What do you mean by "do before"? You mean technically changing the domain name? You mean marketing anouncing it? You mean changing as the reflection of a new business positioning? |

How important is the location of the office for business' image? If all you want is a premium address on a business card and a fancy place to meet your customers once in a while, go for a virtual office. |

How would you convince a domain owner to sell his domain to you? From my experience with domain sellers, if you want it, you have to pay something around their number, not yours. Point 3. is usually the last email one exchanges... |

How can I find Beta Test Couples for my New Game? You can also register in erotic/sexual forums and do it there. Just talk with the forum administrators first and explain what you need, so that they don't block your posts because they're seen as ads. |

Business Card Title Well, High Lord sound cool, but it also sounds as 8 years old or an ego thing. After reading a while, C*O starts to sound like a real option... |

Going away to school and my new StartUp You're welceome Nick. I'm glad to help :) I believe finding a partner is is extremely hard, no matter if it's a programmer, a marketing or any other domain. If you can support a a fixed-fee consultant, then I guess that's may be the best way to go while you "half-manage" it. Keep in mind that this "half-manage" may actually require a lot more discipline, since one may be tempted to relax too much... |

Advertisement in desktop application I think so. I don't see any difference between you displaying the ads on a desktop browser, a mobile browser or a browser inside an application... |

Advertisement in desktop application Sorry, I had not understood that. I though you were on a dead end after trying Google Services and you didn't know what to do... You can setup a real site, and get adds to it and then create that blank/wrapper page. Why not use you application website to do it? |

A customer gives a very low counteroffer for my service, how should I react? I agree. user2433, you should prepare before you try it again, meanwhile, since you state you are under huge financial pressure, take it (if you thing you can negotiate, try to raise the price a bit). Don't see this as a defeat but as a lesson. There's not a single entrepreneur I know that had not abandoned some projects (on different stages, though). |

How to manage time remaining from main job? I just want to drop a word about being tired. To get some rest is an obvious answer, the main question is "when"? To me it's on Sunday, I always rest and relax on Sunday, otherwise my working week will be rubish and I'll be very tired the entire week. For those really hard days you should consider taking some energetic pills, I have survived 4 years of work, MsC plus side projects with them. They work wonders for me, but I've seen others that did not addapted to them. Use this only as a last resource. |

can a java app made in Java SE, be called Enterprise App? +1 here. Nevertheless, you should try to avoid confusion to your customers, when stating that your "Enterprise Edition" of your Java application may mislead and create confusion. And that's something you should avoid. |

Best way to send a business proposal +1 again. Also totally agree with Benjamin and Jason on this one. HTML looks like spam and a nice PDF looks professional, it shows you do care and did take the time to make think about it. |

Changing my name for business Zuly Gonzalez has already has answer it, you can sign just as Tim Kara, except on legal business stuff where you'll use your real name. I don't really see the need of using the "(aka name)" stuff. |

Should a slogan imply my target market? +1 here. It should be a clear statement for what you offer. |

partner messing around with employees Will that situation eventually "get fixed" or is it a "dead-end"? If it's a "dead end" and you're not happy, maybe it's time to rethink your start-up/partnership. |

Finding people with the entrepreneurial virus Final post. :D That doesn't mean that I'm not willing to help, discuss with or even brainstorm with you. Of course there's always the chance that someone really steals your idea, but even if that happens, remember that somewhere in the world, someone has already though about your idea. The difference between them and you is that you are willing to make the necessary effort to make it come true. And even then, when you have your product or service built, someone can copy it. You can take a step at a time. If you don't feel comfortable, Don't just jump into foruns, start with your friends. |
