When to give up on a product? Enthusiasm could be a false positive and lack of enthusiasm a false negative. I'd say try a vacation if enthusiasm is the issue (and you've been working like a slave for half a year or more). |

Does 20,000 free downloads mean at least 10,000 paid sales? The 1% number mentioned by @Craig, while very conservative, is generally accurate. All kinds of people will download something for free just to try it out. The number who would pay, even a minimal amount like $10, is much, much, much less. |

Advice for overcoming fear of quitting a good job to build a startup I'd like to see you have 6 months income in savings before making this move - this would negate the salary differential for 12 months (since you're taking a 50% pay cut). Can you do this? Or if not, can you practice for a few months living as though your income had been cut in half? |

A very simple multi-currency accounting system Can you not convert to GBP on the day the funds are received and just track everything in GBP? I'd hate to see you spend time on accounting when you could be building your business. |
