Should a slogan imply my target market? Aha, good tips (and useful link). Thanks Oli :) |

Should a slogan imply my target market? Ha, there is probably some truth to that. Thanks :) |

Should a slogan imply my target market? Thank you Jarie. The examples were helpful. Interesting, you said to pick a slogan based off a core value, as opposed to what the service actually does. I'll need to reflect on this. Thanks! |

Should company A have different social network identities for each service/website? Interesting. For as much as I agree with Jarie, I pushed back a little in my above comment (but ran out of space). I think I like what you said, which is, focus on company first, then focus on services. I think I'm going to register a social presence for the service, and if it really picks up I'll focus more time on the social media aspect of the service. Thanks for helping me out! |

Should company A have different social network identities for each service/website? Thanks. This is the first time I've heard of the idea of a "sub-brand." I'll need to look into that. I did look into 37 Signals and recognized that too, but I wonder if it's the "right" thing to do. Odds are people would be using the sub-brand site and never really hit the main site, unless I give them a reason to. For instance, Wordpress's parent is Automattic... but Wordpress has a separate Twitter/Facebook account. I partly want to think that the right thing to do would be to create different identities seeing how much people engaged with different brands. Might be overthinking this. |

Trends of Successful Technology Startups I've read Twitter is profitable now that Google and Microsoft are paying them for their real time data, for whatever that's worth. |

Brainstorming the idea of Strategic Alliances Aha! I think I'm looking for more of a long-term promotional relationship. I'm not exactly sure what to call it, but I think this is fine. I'll do X for you, you do Y for me, with the end goal of helping drive customers to each other. I need to look into legal forms for forming such a relationship. Is it safe to assume I should do that? Most of the people I want to do this with I've already built credibility/trust with. I imagine it's good to explicity define any gray areas, regardless. Is this called a "mutual promotional deal" or does it have other names too? Thank you! |

Brainstorming the idea of Strategic Alliances Thank you! Very valid points. I think I want more of a "mutual promotion deal." The main purpose would be to promote each other a little here and there. You raise valid points, though, for if the idea ever comes up again. :) |
