How to go from private into public beta? What was your plan for the launch of the final version? Public beta means you you still have bugs but you want people to start using it. It is part of the marketing of the software. If you have a website and people have been visiting the site, why wouldn't you announce it on that site. Also start working your marketing plan to get it noticed. How were you going to reach potential customers? Under the public beta start reaching out now. What are you offering as part of the public beta? Free services? future discounts? |

License model for University/Colleges Lower level schools use computer labs, or students have a laptop to take home. Colleges have computer labs, but most students use their own. How will licensing and installation work in this environment? |

License model for University/Colleges You give the example of 500 to 200 students and a price of <1500, therefor the price is less than 1 per student. What is your current price model? Is 1500 the maximum? Is there a sliding scale depending on the size? Did you ever sell to two schools in the same school system, and give them a price break? What happens at the end of the time period, does it stop working or are they free to keep using it? |

Should I be concerned with a low conversion rate? How many have reached the end of the 30 day trial? I would think that most of the conversions will take place at the end of the 30 day period. |

Server costs for video startup One advantage to the cloud is that it can be your testbed during development. It will let you test different sizes of machines. When you aren't testing you can pause them, and their cost drops to almost nothing. It would be impossible to size a system without knowing the base of users you will have, and the complexity of the processing. Cloud based lets you start small with a minimal commitment of money. |

How to calculate churn on a product where people just stop using instead of cancelling? Why is that a problem? You will need to set the date range that makes sense. Tax prep software sites are very busy for a few months, so they would look at a different date range then a daily newspaper site. |

As a stock holder, do I have the right to know how many stocks other investors have? The issue is that if they awarded you shares as an employee they have no obligation to tell you what other employees were awarded. Unless somebody was given a significant portion of the company, 10% or more. |

As a stock holder, do I have the right to know how many stocks other investors have? I focused on the part of the question that said he was an employee "but I am having difficulty trusting that I have received my fair "share" of the stock in comparison with other employees." |

Statistics about startup success vs. failure rates? You are ignoring the companies that don't need funding from a VC. They make enough money to survive. |

Should I leave my job and compete with my current employer? Be very careful if you do leave. They may claim that they own your future work, because it was based on the IP you were exposed to while you worked for them. Don't take anything with you. Not even a notebook. |
