Lean Startup Landing Page Test: How do I measure success? Thanks this is useful information; do you have any suggestions on strategies upon which I can base my estimated value of an email on real information? Perhaps I should be looking for industry standards of how many emails might turn into a converted sale, or simply try to get in direct contact with a few of the signups to see if I can sell them on it? |

Lean Startup Landing Page Test: How do I measure success? Hey @frenchie, you're completely right that what we need is to know if they're willing to spend the $50...not just whether they're willing to register the email. My only issue with asking them to buy the product, and then telling them it's not ready yet after they've tried to order, is that the current (very basic) landing page would presumably convert horribly because it is just an image and an email capture. To properly test if they would be willing to spend their $50 I think I would need to have a landing page that had at least a reasonable chance of converting paid users. |

A content website MVP? "Mandarin dentist english" will return plenty of results, but something location specific like "taipei english dentist" returns less...though it still returns something. What I've found people have a harder time finding, and what it would really be seeking to solve, is information related to recent events in English. I envision it as a hub for just about everything an expat needs, but what brings them there in the first place I believe would by this type of information. |

When to kill a startup? I've got a copy of Rob's book but I've never read it, I'll have a look into it. |

When to kill a startup? This is a good point, and I do know someone. I'll approach him to see what he thinks. |

When to kill a startup? I'll try to break down the number of hours to get a better idea. I had gotten startups profitable before and sort of lifestyle business level, but not past that. |

When to kill a startup? Thanks for the answer Gary. I actually much prefer the idea of running a company with 10 small businesses rather than one giant business, but the reason why I'm debating whether or not to pull the plug on this one is because the time commitment it involves would make it very difficult to build the other 9 small businesses. |
