How to define startup Partnerships norms? Suppose if there are four founders, structured with 60, 20, 10 and 10 - how does vesting work out? Suppose the one with 60 decides to withdraw later after a few months, what happens in that vesting situation? Does it mean the rest of the founders buy-back the new allocated 60%? |

What tactics did Facebook or LinkedIn or Bebo use to grow? Most sites have limits on how many records can be imported - the company that FB acquired apparently have stealth abilities to grab everything without tripping over the tripwires - so it's not a really level playing field, more like an arms race. You can see FB's recent stance about data portability. So, yes, there are other importers, but the importers are not equal. Some would face daily limits, the effective ones would scrape through your entire inbox and even rank which contacts are "priority" invites. |

Your favorite viral technique? For a professional demographics, it's all about out-blogging (linking everyone and everything) - it's not instant - but you essentially put in the effort to be the "techcrunch" or "mashable" of the industry. The viral nature is that you become the de-facto reference site. Very tough to create - but once you get over to the other side, you might wonder about why you were doing this in the first place. It's basically the Gawker / Scobleizer strategy. Another way is to look at your industry - and run interviews/roundtable meetings with the top "buyers" in that industry. Become the source. |

How to create a great niche content site? No worries Jay. Perhaps you'll need to launch it or get in touch with private mentors in the niche who can give you some better insights. I'll add two "big levers" that I've been noticing. |
