Going away to school and my new StartUp Thanks Fernando. I can probably manage to half-run it for 5 months. About getting a marketing partner, how do you go about finding one? I don't want to give up equity at this point so an fixed-fee consultant might be a better idea. |

99% OFF for the first month, any downsides? Good point. I'm starting to believe some people will never pay no matter how cheap and some people will pay even without discount. |

99% OFF for the first month, any downsides? Thanks Zuly. I'm treating the coupon as my marketing expense. What is your thought on Paypal recurring payment vs. Credit card recurring? I'm using Paypal recurring now but I'm concerned because it's incredibly easy for customer to cancel. I'm thinking about adding credit card subscription as a way to increase the barrier of exit. I understand unhappy customers will quit even if you point the gun at their head but for those who are not 100% sure, making it harder to exit might retain them. My product is less than $5/month. |

Starting my own website building business and not a freelancing business @cawas, I think what Allison meant is don't create a product first then try to mould the entire market to fit your product. Instead, you should create create/mould your product to fit your market. It's easier to change your product than to change the entire market. To create a matching product for the right market, you need to know exactly what your customers want. |

Offering customers a discount in exchange of social media publicity - Does this make sense? Thanks for the twitter tactic. |

Would a 1-man operation be better with downloadable or Saas model software? Mike: Like you said, it's inevitable to seek extra helps when the company grows. However, I believe is possible to create and launch a product with one-man. Beyond a certain point, helps will be needed. Depending how you define success. $300,000 or $3 million sales? It's definitely possible to pull off $300,000/yr in sales with just one man although it is a good idea to get some help especially customer service reps. |
