Are local music bands violating copyrights? The fact that there are 110 sections probably tells the story. Sounds like the local bar bands have it as well figured out as the lawyers and politicians on this one. Whatever the situation is, I don't think they're going to shut down every bar band in the country. Just thought I'd ask! |

Are local music bands violating copyrights? How big would the damages be for just ignoring all copyright rights? |

Are local music bands violating copyrights? My general observation is that Most bands play only other peoples work. It seems this is probably too small to chase. Of course, there are a lot of hungry lawyers. But what do you mean by a cover band - one that plays only one performer's or group's work? And is there a "parody" exception for that? |

Enterprise Software: List prices? "the starting point is referenceable pricing". I've been thinking something similar recently. It can perhaps attract attention or even provide a competitive advantage when trying to enter an established market. I know its hard for a new firm to compete on price, but with big software there will always be additional needs and prices. The trick, as I see it, is to not loose the prospect before he even contacts you. |

Investor perspective on non-dilutive equity? I don't follow how one stockholder, the founder, "will be getting diluted at first". Every share is fungible (ie: equal), if the founders shares are diluted, your shares are diluted. Or am I missing something? |

How to start Selling Software You already are a sole proprietor - that is the default. I'm not familiar with FastSpring, but these companies hold sales tax, if anything. The taxes you're should mean are income taxes. They have no idea how much income tax you owe. And if they did withhold something toward that, it would only be a downpayment. You would still have to make a complete filing and pay what additional you might owe. All of that said, I have no idea on the specifics in Canada, buat the big picture should be the same. -- Oh, and if you found this to be "great help" feel free to accept my answer so the system works |

What are the tax consequences for Kickstarter earnings? Always wondered about this. So, you believe that Kickstarter proceeds represent sales revenue, not some kind of equity, loan or contribution? It seems if it were so clear, Kickstarter would say that. Can't the Kickstarter "rewards" represent interest - especially since it's not dependent on profits? If I have a small business and Grandma gives me $5,000 is that revenue? |
