Background Checks I don't see an advantage to not getting consent. But as with anything else, I want to know what I am legally obligated to do. Let's say I hire an intern and ask them to handle HR work for me. If they ran a background check on someone, without their consent, and using the company account, does that expose my company? If I'm not legally obligated to get consent from the subject of the search, then the answer is "no". I want to know where the legal boundaries lie in this situation, whether civil or criminal. |

Background Checks @Tim I'm sure I have - but it sounds like I can't prove it. |

What's in a Title? Customer-facing, e.g. website, business cards, email signatures, etc. Want to send the proper message to companies that we're asking to entrust us with their business. |

Chicken/Egg: New Startup, Need Credit Card that's exactly what I'm pursuing...there are some companies that will "play ball" if your personal credit is good. Good feedback, thanks. |

Chicken/Egg: New Startup, Need Credit Card @Kenneth Vogt - not sure I understand how you arrived at the judgement that I don't want to take any risk? My original question states that I would be paying things off monthly. How can a startup without positive cash flow pay things off monthly? Only two possibilities: investors or self-financing. For now, I'm self-financing. Putting my own money up is about as risky as it can get. I want to earn some credit for doing so... |
