I have a question similar to the following

I'm looking for a issue tracking system that integrates with Salesforce, ideally it should support a web portal where customers can submit their questions and also accept cases via email.

Why not use Cases which are already part of Salesforce? There is also a web portal which you can allow your customers to log cases automatically. It's very customizable, so you can define what you want to keep track of.

Jason, if you have Salesforce, I would advise you to look at the Cases tab. As Joe mentioned it is very customizable, and you can also specify a series of email accounts that automatically create Cases. For example, if you receive an email at info@yourcompany.com, a case is automatically created and you can manage it in SFDC.

The only drawback is if you have a lot of users that will need to use this, since you may have to increase the number of SFDC login names you will need (more licenses, more $$).

Zendesk is a user-friendly support portal that integrates with several popular web apps, including Salesforce.
