Answers OnStartups is a question and answer site for entrepreneurs looking to start or run a new business. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I recently launched a peer to peer marketplace that consists of buyers and sellers. Currently, buyers pay the sellers via paypal. However, I am researching a BalancedPayments solution which would allow buyers to pay directly with credit card on my website and sellers to receive the funds via ACH into their checking account.

My issue is credibility and buyer/seller protection. I want to protect buyers from getting scammed by sellers that would send a product that isn't exactly what they listed or not sending anything at all. I also want to protect sellers from the buyer claiming that they never received anything or lying about the product not matching the description.

Site's like ebay have protection policy/insurance to cover these situations. I'm looking for ideas a small startup can use?

Thanks, Stephen
