Answers OnStartups is a question and answer site for entrepreneurs looking to start or run a new business. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Three friends came to me with a very original idea of a startup. They call themselves co-founders of the company (which is yet to be founded) and they need two other software engineers like me to work on the project. They themselves have an engineering background but they are not experienced with coding so they will be needing the two coders to make the project come to life. They will be mostly dealing with the finances, marketing, management, etc.

I really like their idea and I see future in it. I am planning to be involved in the foundation of the company and further with my coding skills. However, I am also new to startups and I would like to know what are the things I should watch out for to avoid any problems, conflicts and injustice in the future. I would appreciate advice from experienced people who have been through this before.

Welcome to the site! Asking what possible problems you may encounter in a startup is too wide open of a question. There are tons of things that can go wrong. I suggest editing your question to narrow it down to one specific problem you are concerned about. – Zuly Gonzalez Nov 19 '12 at 4:33
