Is there any (unbiased) data available on what effect Extended Validation certificates have on conversation ratios? Is there any measurable improvement to normal certificates?

Yes, it does. But the best way is to handle payments on the bank side fully the way you dont process CC numbers. But for login to the account, you should use the green cert, it does improve a lot since many browsers doesnt show standard certificate well, so it's not recognized. – Andrew Smith Sep 14 '12 at 22:48
What data do you base that on? – Yrlec Sep 15 '12 at 7:22
My own private statistics on multiple websites from different kind of area of business. – Andrew Smith Sep 15 '12 at 22:08
Ok. How much better did your conversion numbers get after you added an EV-cert? – Yrlec Sep 16 '12 at 10:32
For B2B it's 10-17%, for websites with customers around the world it's up to 30%. I suspect that the smarter the audience is (about internet), the lower ratio is. – Andrew Smith Sep 16 '12 at 12:31
