Answers OnStartups is a question and answer site for entrepreneurs looking to start or run a new business. It's 100% free, no registration required.

Me and my partner have a site in the form of a directory for a type of business on a very specific niche. The website had been build manually (without the business owners intervention) over the last two years.

We had gathered all their business info (address, contact info, photos, services, prices, opening times, etc etc.) and created a very user friendly directory.

Now, I had developed an administrative interface for the site so the business owners can edit and update their business info. Apart from that the site offers a a series of features to allow the business owners to interact directly an indirectly with my users website.

The plan now is to sell something on the website to the business owners, but here is where the problem begins. Me and my partner can't find how and what to sell to the business owners. Here is a list of the 3 main ideas so far:

1- Create 3 membership plans (really overdone everywhere) where the basic one will be free and will allow the user to only edit their business info and the Pro membership will allow full access to all feature.

2- Only 2 membership types, similar to the previous one, basic will only edit the info and its free and the paid one grants access to all features.

3- Allow all users to edit their info and sell independently the other features in the site.

The features: They all vary from facebook and twitter interaction, newsletter, live chat with users, email notification, ability to create and run ad units on the site ans some more...

From the go we plan to allow all users to use all features on site to get a flavor of the whole thing, but...

Which would be the most recommended sales option and how to price it ?

Note: There is only two competitors and their price is $250 and $150 per year, and they only provide a basic listing (much more basic information of each business).
