Answers OnStartups is a question and answer site for entrepreneurs looking to start or run a new business. It's 100% free, no registration required.

The Replacemyself.com folks have a very believable story on why outsourcing to the Philippines is so much better than India, etc. But their marketing is so slick that I'm dubious.

Are these claims (about the Philippines), correct (in general)?:

  • Have excellent English
  • Are well educated
  • Are loyal
  • Not Entrepreneurial (thus much less likely to steal your virtual company out from under you or simply compete with you).

I hvae read in Software Without Borders that Philippine workers are well educated, speak English well, and that the one downside is a lack of good project managers (all consistent with what Jonas says).

It might help if you rephrase as a question. – Nick Stevens Jan 30 '12 at 14:00
Not sure what the question is but to quote Dr House: "Everybody lies." – Karlson Jan 30 '12 at 16:23

What is your question? – TimJ Jan 30 '12 at 17:08
I'm closing this. There is no question in your post, and even though a couple of folks have left you comments asking for clarification you have not responded. I'm assuming you've had a chance to see the comments since you just asked another question. You can still edit this if you'd like, and we can reopen it. – Zuly Gonzalez Jan 31 '12 at 3:30
This question has been edited and the question being asked is much more obvious now, so it might be worth looking at reopening this one, since that's why it was closed. But I, personally, am having a hard time imagining how you'd answer this one objectively, since you're talking about personal characteristics that you can't just generalize to an entire nation. Yes, you'll get some that are well educated, but you'll also get some that aren't. Yes, some have excellent English skills, but others do not. Just like anywhere else. It really depends. – rbwhitaker Oct 20 '12 at 15:13
