I'm trying to find out if the word wage or salary is more widely used in the USA, or are both words used?

Wage is usually referred to as an hourly rate. Salary is usually referred to as a given yearly amount. However, some companies specify a "Yearly Salary", "Monthly Salary", or in rare cases a "Weekly/Bi-Weekly Salary"
