Answers OnStartups is a question and answer site for entrepreneurs looking to start or run a new business. It's 100% free, no registration required.

I am trying to find a service similar to Google Adsense, SolveMedia, or Brightroll. But I need it to pay strictly on a CPM basis.

However, I am having trouble finding a service like this that does not require your site to have about 500,000 unique users minimum.

My website is completely ad-centered. Users watch advertisements and whatnot on it.

I have been looking for something that gives me like $4 CPM at minimum. Any ideas?

How much traffic (Unique users and page views) is your site getting per month? – Sunil Oct 31 '11 at 5:15
@Sunil I get over 1.2 million video views a month and over 100,000 unique users. – Flipper Oct 31 '11 at 16:19
Will ask around... But I think you're better off going with an ad broker.. even if you get less $$ per CPM - they might block you out - which could be better. What's the theme of your site? – Sunil Oct 31 '11 at 16:26
Could you suggest an ad broker to me? – Flipper Nov 1 '11 at 16:37

There are a lot of factors to consider if you're looking for rates.

I'd recommend contacting multiple ad networks while keeping your current rates and stats (CTR, traffic, etc.) handy so they can give you an accurate estimate of how other clients in your bracket are faring.

That said, there's still more factors that can be on your side as well. If you have a website that appeals to more demographics, it'll be easier to have a higher fill-rate, or a demographic that tends to click more. On that note, you should make sure you have an ad network that optimizes well (each optimize differently).

Another important factor to consider on your side is what ad campaigns an ad network is running. If X network is running a huge campaign for Y company, the Y ads will may take up a lot of the impressions.

If a scenario like that affects your fill rate, this would be a good time to have another ad network that helps leverage whatever happens.
