I am looking for a trademark lawyer who could help me with a trademark registration. While I am not looking for a specific contact person I am looking for a site that lists and maybe even rates different trademark lawyer.

Can you help me with that? Since I am not from the US but need a US trademark lawyer asking family and friends is not reallz an option.

Trademarks and copyrights are the easier to tackle intellectual property issues, but you sometimes need an attorney anyway.

I found this site, it might help you:

http://www.intellectualpropertylawfirms.com/

Another:

http://lawyers.findlaw.com/lawyer/practice/Intellectual-Property-Law

Or just do a search for "intellectual property attorney"

Unless it is very complicated, the registration USPTO process is simple, any error and start again. Make sure you do your background search on New User Form Search (Basic) http://tess2.uspto.gov/ click on a live serial number & click on the blue box label TDR at the top of the page. This will give you access to the file case history & all the process history of live registrations and dead ones that were not allow + the reasons why. If you use an attorney make sure you agree a total price, one I used used to file xxxxx gave me an estimate of $500 (which I had stated was the total I would go to) & billed me for $2,300 and tried to tell me $500 was only an estimate !! they were not paid & waited a long time for the agreed sum.

Unless you are doing a complicated design or a trade name with a particularly common place word, you can probably submit your application without a trademark lawyer and just follow the instructions on uspto.gov.
