Answers OnStartups is a question and answer site for entrepreneurs looking to start or run a new business. It's 100% free, no registration required.

What are the "high traffic" RSS feeds or firehoses that you read? Are you satisfied? Which one is most valuable to you?

Hacker news - too much gossip, code tips, product announcements http://news.ycombinator.com/newest

Slashdot - ubergeek, too much traffic http://slashdot.org/firehose.pl

I want:

more real entrepreneurs, less VC & marketing

more how to build business, less code tips

more small companies, less big company news (Google, Apple)

more interviews & real persons, less "TOP 10 ways how to ..."

Examples from recent Hacker news feed ... techentrepreneurship.com/2011/07/27/… tbbuck.com/… coreyhoffstein.com/2011/07/27/… blog.thansys.com/2011/05/18/technical-co-founder-first-hire blog.thansys.com/2011/07/03/getting-funded-step-0 ... but real tips and advice for wannabe entrepreneurs is not so common on this thread. Maybe 5 out of 100. Are there feeds with more density & content? – thomas craneland Jul 28 '11 at 19:16

"more how to build business"... what about this great new site called answers.onstartups.com? :)

Magazines (as antiquated as they are can be a great source): Inc., Entrepreneur, Business Week, and Fast Company often have great stories and interviews on small companies

I hear you about "more interviews, real persons, less "Top 10 ways how to..."
