our startup is starting to require buying some hardware for our employees. We are buying about 6 machines now and will continue buying more in the future. I was wondering which is the best provider you guys have used.

Any good / bad experiences with lenovo vs hp vs dell in terms of their small business solutions and support?

Thanks

We use the dell outlet (with a coupon!). Buying higher spec (quad core, 8gb ram, ssd) for developers, we also buy higher class machines (XPS or business equivalent) with high res screens. After buying my designer partner a new macbook pro, I've definitely got envy, but not at 2x the cost of our typical dev laptop. – Sean May 3 '11 at 21:18

I've had great support from Dell (used them for peripherals like monitors). But one thing I'd recommend is giving your developers a bit of leeway in choosing their own machines.

Some may be happy with a bog-standard desktop. Others might prefer working from a laptop. And am sure you'll get some that would like to build their own from selected components. So possibly restricting yourself to one supplier isn't necessarily the best option.
