Is there an equivalent of Google Docs but for accounting?

I am looking for a web-based accounting solution that provides the bookkeeping capabilities of Quickbooks. Multi-user support would be nice but not a necessity.

Xero, Freshbooks, InDinero. I'm not sure how they compare to Quickbooks feature-wise. Xero and InDinero import bank transactions automatically which is very handy.

lets add lessaccounting to the list. – Frank Dec 27 '10 at 15:53

Since the vast majority of good accountants serving SMBs use QB, I would not stray away from it. There is a good reason why they are almost a monopoly. I and some of my clients from consulting days tried other solutions. Generally, it was a disaster, when time came to scale. QB Online sucks, so running QB on a Windows VM or off terminal server is your best option. Plenty of good providers out there.
