Hi Guys,

I just launched my Job portal last week and now i am really wanted to know which is best way to generate sales for a startup company like us. is it really hard to convince the recruiters to post thier in beginning?

Right now we are doing SEO activities to get the initial traffic and willing to go for sales soon.

Should i go for freelancers to bring the sales for us?

Please help in giving some tips to boost up the business as it will be helpful for us

Anand on the value proposition , try to give something extra for eg can recruiters or companies do a web based screening of the candidates ? Are there some tests available which they can ask candidate to take before shortlisting resume. Take a look at Online Job screening Solution and see if you can tie up with them

Without looking at your site, here's what you need to think about: your value proposition and your differentiator.

Let's say I'm a recruiter. Why should I list with you, rather than the other hundred job sites out there? Do you offer something better, more efficient?

Once you articulate that, then you'll know how to pitch and who to pitch it to. Then watch the reaction of the first people you pitch to, learn, adapt, and iterate.

As for your unique value proposition, you can go for a niche and try to dominate that, as it's very hard competing with the big and established job posting sites.

To arrive at a value proposition I dare say you really have understand your customer and their customer and so on.

As you do research you will notice all the job sites connect unique employer\employee combinations, situations, geography. For E.G

Basically, know thy customer, know thy industry, know thy weakness. Know beyond reasonable doubt who in the room will fall in love and why then go to work making the how.

Closing off with two tips from friends in the start-up recruitment game. Is to have a contingency plan in preparation for getting sued by the big co's when you gain traction. And pressing the flesh creating real "physcial" relationships (Not SEO) is important to getting clients who will be stayers and help improve the service.
