Who and what are you? I mean, seriously. Can you cook 5 star food? Are yo ua good programmer (consulting gigs pay very nicely - 25000USD is for me about a 3 month contract, in pure profit post taxes). YOu really need to give a lot more info to get any sensible answer. What CAN you do? – NetTecture Jun 15 '10 at 14:27
I can do web design work, help people with SEO, how do you get 25 k contracts? – Mike Harring Jun 15 '10 at 14:45

By not doing web design and SEO. Agreeable, that is not an area to earn a lot of money. – NetTecture Jun 15 '10 at 15:54

I'm not sure what kind of startup is going to cost 25K right from the beginning (franchise?), but it doesn't sound like a bootstrap approach.

Check your costs. See what you can do without or put off until later. A contractor should not ask for 3 months of fees up front (Ok, they can ask, but negotiate.).

Lease hardware or go a cheaper route until you get some users.

Can you generate some potential sales before buying product? Maybe get some supplier credit.

Your investors must love you very much to give you $25K without a business plan but also very optimist to give you the money and expect to get it back in 3 months.

Come up with a plan on what you can do and try to build a product or service around it. Then raise the money to help achieve your goals.

With raise money I meant how I can actually make it. I don't like taking money - i've always bootstrapped my companies. just looking for new ideas to make money to start my next company – Mike Harring Jun 15 '10 at 14:47
Mike, asking a question on how to make money is so generic that I can give you a million answers. Everybody wants to make money, especially on this site. My point is that before you start thinking of raising money, first think what you can do to start a business. – Stefanos Tses Jun 15 '10 at 15:52
